Bride's Tree Ornament 1

1st progress for Bride's Tree blk. #1

Good afternoon everyone. It is an off and on day here today. The sun keeps going on and off lol. It is also quite cool and breezy which keeps me indoors. You see, I have had asthma since I was a child and after having yearly boughts of bronchitis and phnuemonia I work on about 1/3 lung power and have to protect my chest from any type of questionable weather. It really doesn't bother me too much, I just have to take some precautions and life is pretty normal.  Besides, I'd rather stay in and stitch until it's warm enough to garden.

My best laid plans, you know how they go, were to get the first blk of Bride's Tree done. However, I was interrupted, lovingly, by a family visit. The grandchildren were going by my neighborhood and flipped out to mommy, "Go to Nannas!! Go to Nannas!!" of course mommy couldn't say no, and there went my stitching for the afternoon lol.

But, after a great and very messy visit, I finally got to sit down and stitch. I started the first Bride's Tree blk and I am having a blast!  I have decided to make all the designs into one large sampler. But, there is one design that I do not think will look right in the whole scheme of a sampler and that is the large pink flower. I know this sounds like sacrilege, but I may substitute another design (from another designer) for that spot.

I plan to enter this piece into a huge local county fair and I only have to the end of may to finish it!
Well, I better get stitching, Have a great day!

Monthly Challenge: Complete two smalls

 Brooke's Books
Bride's Tree Ornaments

My smalls Challenge

I have decide that a good challenge for me would be to complete two smalls per month.  That way I can actually see that I am accomplishing something! At this point in the year I will probably do mostly Halloween and Christmas to have them ready ahead of time.

I have made this a small attainable challenge due to my crazy lifestyle, however, I will try to add to it and try to get to five completed in a month. I just don't like to bite of more than I can chew and set myself up for failure lol.

Have you seen the Brooke's Books "Bride Tree Ornaments" you probably have, but if not check them out in the above photo, they are beautiful and I plan to work on these and make them into a sampler.  I love her designs!
